The Mount has always been an extremely popular beach destination especially for New Year! From Westhaven Motel it is only a brief walk from the harbour to the Main surf beach. On the way you can explore the main street to enjoy a unique boutique shopping and dining experience.

Mouao (Mount Maunganui) dominates the landscape offering spectacular views to those keen enough to climb to the summit. What better place to see the sun rise on a New Years morning, stunning. Just as spectacular is the base track walk. It is extremely popular with just about everyone who visits the Mount, and is so smooth a wheelchair can use it.

Pilot Bay is always safe for young children to play and swim and provides superb picnic spots under the Norfolk pines with BBQs available for public use.
